AIA Door Code Fundamentals - Andersen Windows

This course is designed to provide a summary of key building code and regulatory information as they relate to emergency escape and rescue openings (commonly referred to as egress), accessibility to the American's with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the federal Fair Housing Act (FHA) and guidelines/trends related to "Aging in Place". IMPORTANT NOTICE: Compliance to ADA, FHA and all other applicable building code and regulatory requirements is the responsibility of the architect, specifier or contractor based on installed conditions. As such, it is not the responsibility of the product manufacturer to provide, determine or claim compliance but rather to provide product details, dimensions and performance information that can be used to assist in installed end use condition for compliance. Consult with local authorities and building code officials for all regulatory and building code compliance requirements.
When you complete this course you will know more about:
• Identify door requirements within current ADA and FHA
• Discuss a wide range of IBC building codes related to doors.
• Compare and contrast the nuances between ADA and FHA.
• Understanding IRC building codes and how aging in place trends are impacting door design, placement and choice.
