On Saturday, July 23rd, we held our first TW Perry "Contractor Cup" which was a Futbolito (small team soccer) Tournament at RFK Stadium at the DC United practice field. Even though the day got up to 100 degrees, we had 26 teams of 6 players show up to play. It was a fun event with music, good food and of course, plenty of Gatorade. Congratulations to the first place team "Builder JD & A" who won $1000.00 and a huge trophy cup.

The motivation for holding this event was to help expand our Hispanic outreach, which is very important for us. We are proud to have Spanish speaking sales staff at every location and many were present during the tournament volunteering or even playing on a team with their customers.

Thank you to our two sponsors, Trex Decking & Railing and Versatex Trimboards.  We also had the support of the DC Hispanic Contractors Association in promoting the event and they were present on the day of the tournament. The DC Hispanic Contractors Association President, Maria Patricia Corrales helped TW Perry present the trophy to the winning team.

"We are so grateful to TW Perry for putting together this event and focusing on gathering the Hispanic Community as they did at the 'Contractors Cup'. Our members deserve recognition for their tireless hard work day after day at construction jobsites. This tournament was the perfect opportunity to show our appreciation and our wish for them to have fun and enjoy a day of entertainment" said Corrales.

Congratulations to Adolfo Tovar with Henriquez Builders Group and Caribbean Contractors for winning the 2009 Harley-Davidson. Adolfo has been trying to win for many years and was extremely happy with his new black V-Rod!

Charlie Little was chosen for the 2008 Roger Gregory Award because he has spent the last several years putting all of his efforts into helping build communities. He avidly works with a team from his Church to rebuild dilapidated homes for less fortunate members of his community of Purcellville, VA. He spends an evening once a week bowling with mentally challenged adults. He and his two daughters spent time in Biloxi, Mississippi helping to rebuild after the devastating hurricane Katrina.

The 2007 Roger Gregory Service Award was presented to Greg Smith of the Greg Smith Company, nominated by Bill Dorn of TW Perry Springfield Sales. Greg Smith has been a volunteer with the Archdiocese of Arlington in their Workcamp Program for over 10 years. He is a leader in the youth based program which helps fix homes of those in need in the community. In 2007 he worked on approximately 85 homes. Greg has been very generous with his time and efforts and we are pleased to have him receive the award. The Roger Gregory Award consists of a crystal statue and a Scholarship fund. The award was presented to Greg Smith at the Mustang Raffle in October.

The TW Perry Golf Classic on October 1st raised more than $91,000 to benefit Rebuilding Together of Montgomery County.
